| Bangladesh’s ninth Test tour. (May - June 2004) First Test-playing tour of West Indies by Bangladesh (no previous tour) | Latif Khan withdrew as Manager saying he needed surgery on a painful shoulder. It was he who had sent Mohammad Rafique back on the first available flight after a dressing room row in Zimbabwe. The Bangladesh Board again engaged Sri Lankan batting coach Wayne Mattau and American baseball coach Mike Young for the pre-tour preparation camp. Only two seam bowlers were selected for the team as Bangladesh put its faith in spin. Coach Whatmore had by now instilled in them a fighting spirit, that saw the team achieve a genuine draw in the first Test and they would have fared well in the one-day series but for poor catching. | All Bangladesh tours Previous tour to Zimbabwe 2003-04 Next tour England 2005 Next tour of West Indies 2009 | |
