Test Cricket Tours - Australia to England 1993

Tour of England 1993                Captain: Allan Border

58th Australian Test tour

32nd Test-playing tour of England by Australia

(April - September 1993)

The selectors went for a policy of youth, discarding over-thirties like Dean Jones, Mike Whitney and Greg Matthews, choosing several young players untried in international cricket.  Michael Slater and Brendon Julian were products of the Australian Cricket Academy in Adelaide.

Matthew Hayden scored 1000 tour runs but was unable to gain a place in the Test side (like Roy Marshall in 1950).
