Nathan Hauritz had recovered sufficiently from stress fracture in foot that sent him back early from England

 

Test Tour Party Announced  1 September 2010.

Not selected  :  Clint McKay,  Usman Khawaja and  Steve O'Keefe, who were part of Australia's squad for the two Tests against Pakistan.

 

Withdrawal   Josh Hazlewood was diagnosed with a back stress fracture and withdrew on 18 September.

Stand-bys   Mitchell Starc (to accompany the team) and James Pattinson (playing in South Africa)

The ODI squad was announced on  5 October.

Ricky Ponting, Shane Watson and Mitchell Johnson were rested ahead of the Australian domestic season

The team flew from Sydney on 19 September 2010. 

20-year-old Mitchell Starc travelled with the team as fast bowling stand-by. 

The Australian players led by captain Ricky Ponting, arrived in Chandigarh via Mumbai and New Delhi on Monday 20 September.  On arrival persistent unseasonal rain prevented them from practicising

Peter George arrived on 23 September ; Doug Bollinger and Michael Hussey flew in on 28 September from playing in the  Champions League in South Africa.

On 18 September James Pattinson and Mitchell Starc were named to join the tour in place of Hazlewood.

On 10 October it was announced that John Hastings would join the one-day section of the tour when James Pattinson withdrew from the one-day team.

At end of Test series  Ricky Ponting, Shane Watson and Mitchell Johnson were rested.  Ponting arrived in Sydney on Thursday 14 October.

Postscript

 

Troy Cooley left the backroom team after the 2010-11 Ashes, to run the Australian Centre of Excellence in Brisbane.  In May 2011 Craig McDermott, the pace bowling coach at the Centre, was appointed Australia's bowling coach for a year, and Justin Langer re-appointed as batting coach for a further year.
