Australian Test tour Seventh Test-playing tour
of West Indies by Australia (February - May 1995) | Australia, described
by Richie Richardson as the worst that Australia
had put out, took on West Indies, the
unofficial world champions, in a four-Test series. Though shoulder injuries
put Fleming and McDermott out of the fast bowling attack, Glenn McGrath made
a name for himself Australia needed
to win the fourth Test in Kingston
when the series was tied at one-all. Teammate David Boon said he believed
Waugh's "defining moment" was his epic 200 at Sabina Park
which won the match. Waugh was always in the thick of it. The West Indians
accused him of taking a catch off Lara on the bounce, which precipitated a
collapse of West Indies' innings in the
first Test and the subsequent ten wicket defeat. There was a two-week visit to Bermuda at the end of the tour. On returning home the
team was given a ticker-tape parade through Sydney to show the Frank Worrell Trophy to
the crowds | Other

damaging the rotator cuff tendon in his shoulder. He remained with the team
going to St Vincent but then returned to Melbourne for specialist treatment. Brendon Julian was chosen on 15 March to replace him. He
flew to Georgetown, Guyana, and subsequently played
in all four Test matches.
Carl Rackemann who had not played for Australia since 1991, was named
as a replacement for Craig McDermott
on 30 March. Like Fleming, McDermott had a strained tendon in shoulder of his
bowling arm but it was jumping from a seawall while on a run in Guyana
that put him out of the tour with a damaged ankle.. Coach Bob Simpson, 59, was
admitted to hospital on Saturday with a blood clot in his leg and was ordered
to remain there for a week while doctors assessed the extent of a thrombosis. | | |

| Return
to Australia Hamilton Q London Q Sydney | After
winning the fourth Test win against West Indies,
the team played golf and wound down after a long tour. On 7 May the team flew to Bermuda,
joined by wives and partners, for some rest and recreation and to play in
three light-hearted matches. Some of the players then took holidays. A small group
(Taylor, McGrath, Healy, Boon, Rackemann) arrived back at Sydney on 19 May with the Frank Worrell
Trophy. Dressed in their horizontal striped green and gold
blazers, the players were given a ticker tape parade through crowds of 150
000 people in Sydney
on 29 June. | Time away from Australia 80
