| 54th Test-playing tour Third official Test-playing tour of Sri Lanka by West Indies (July -
August 2005) | The West Indies Players' Association (WIPA) and the West Indies Cricket
Board (WICB) were in dispute and negotiations about tour contracts broke down
when most players would not sign. The West Indies Board selected an
alternative team mostly made up of players already in Sri Lanka for
an A tour. Failure to honour the tour commitment would have resulted in heavy
fines from the International Cricket Conference. | Other
