| Bangladesh’s 18th Test tour. (July - August 2011) Third Test-playing tour of Zimbabwe by Bangladesh (previous tour 2003-04) | Despite winning the last two internationals the tour was a failure against opposition that Bangladesh should be able to beat. Zimbabwe were returning to Test cricket, as were Bangladesh after a gap of 14 months, but had lost the services of many players. Bangladesh were beaten in both the Test match and the one-day series. Following the dismal results, the Bangladesh Cricket Board began an evaluation. Shakib al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal were sacked for the failure of their leadership both on and off the field, and for ill-discipline. Coach Stuart Law said this came as a surprise to him and that Shakib had the players’ support. The original plan was to prepare for the tour by playing a four-day match in South Africa but in the end a practice match was arranged in Harare. | All Bangladesh tours Previous tour England 2010 Next tour Sri Lanka 2012-13 Next tour of Zimbabwe 2012-13 | |
