West Indies were optimistic after reached the final of the World Twenty20 and beating   to take the Championship.  Before the tour a practice match was arranged against the Sagicor High Performance Centre team, which had just returned from its own tour of Bangladesh.

After a week-long, pre-tour camp in Barbados, starting on 28 October, departure  was from Bridgetown to London on 3 November.

The group of 15 players and 8 officials arrived in Hazrat Shahjalal Airport, Dhaka, at 8:30 am on Monday 5 November.

After a day's rest, they practiced for two days at the National Cricket Academy in Mirpur.

Highlights

 

   Kieran Powell scored centuries in each innings : 117 and 110 at Mirpur

   Shiv Chanderpaul scored 203 not out in the first Test

   With Dinesh Ramdin (126*), he added 296 in an unbroken fifth wicket partnership

   Tino Best took 5-24 to bowl Bangladesh out for 167 at Mirpur and win the match

   At Khulna three West Indians, DM Bravo (127), Samuels (260) and Chanderpaul (150*) scored centuries

   Fidel Edwards took 6-90 in the first innings and Tino Best 6-40 in the second innings at Khulna.
