Sunil Dev was secretary of the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association, He was previously manager on the 1996-97 tour of South Africa.

On coach Duncan Fletcher’s request, Rahul Dravid was appointed as a consultant.

After the Oval Test match the BCCI changed the coaching staff.  Penney and Dawes were “given a break”.

Omitted :   Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan appeared to have come to the end of their Test careers.

In the window between the end of the 2014 Indian Premier League and the England tour, the team had to play three ODIs in Bangladesh agreed in a future tours programme planning meeting in April.

The players returned from a one-day series in Bangladesh only a day before departing for England.  A press conference took place before the Test side’s departure on Saturday 21 June. The players were allowed to wear casual clothes on the long flight rather than their traditional blazers.

They landed in London on Sunday 22 June 2014.

 

After the Test series new coaches Bharat Arun and R. Sridhar arrived  on Thursday 22 August and Ravi Shastri and Sanjay Bangar the next day.

Test players Ishant Sharma, Murali Vijay, Pankaj Singh, Varun Aaron, Gautam Gambhir, Ishwar Pandey and Naman Ojha returned to India as soon as the Oval Test concluded.

The tour ended with a Twenty20 match at Edgbaston and the limited-overs squad then returned to London, arriving in India on Tuesday 9 September.

Cheteshwar Pujara remained in England to play county matches for Derbyshire
